Dhruv
In a career spanning over 20 years, Dhruv Ghanekar has composed path-breaking music across all genres. He has received over two dozen international awards for his work including Cannes Lions, D&AD, London International Awards, The One Show and many more.
His vast experience encompasses scoring music for over 4000 commercials and producing channel idents for every television network in India and overseas. Dhruv has also produced chart-busting music for films such as Bombay Boys, Drona, and Dhaakad and has recently forrayed into the OTT world with Choona produced by Netflix (2023). Wah Wah Music, India's leading music production house, boasts an impressive list of clients: Nike, Google, The Telegraph (UK), Honda (UK), Samsung, and the Indian Tourism Board.
In 2019, Dhruv was commissioned by the Government of India to score the world's largest 3D-mapped installation show, Gandhi Yatra, a 35-minute musical on the life of Mahatma Gandhi in Gandhinagar, India. Dhruv's music for the British photographer Jimmy Nelson’s show Save our Sentinels was featured at the Atelier des Lumières in Paris in the summer of 2021.
Dhruv was a featured producer on the film The Beatles in India (October 2021). He was also featured as a composer on the hit show Coke Studio Season 4. In 2023, he launched an independent record label Wah Wah Records, followed by a few releases including Smoke Signals, White Noise, Mumbai Star and recently his seventh studio album Voyage 2 (June 2024).
A celebrated multi-instrumentalist/producer, Dhruv has worked with leading international artists from across the globe including A.R. Rahman, Richard Bona, Trilok Gurtu, Zakir Hussein, Raul Midon, Tim Lefebvre, Karim Ziad to name a few. Acknowledged as one of the finest guitarists in the country, he has toured extensively in India and abroad, performing at festivals such as SXSW, Oslo Jazz Festival, and Java Jazz Festival, among others.
Dhruv’s versatility extends to other ventures - he was also the founding partner of blueFrog - the iconic venue that kickstarted the indie music revolution in the country.
